New video game releases on the Steam platform have seen significant commercial activity in early October 2026.

Gears of War: E-Day, a prequel shooter developed by The Coalition, launched with high critical marks, including an 87 on Metacritic. Following its release, the title reached the number one spot on the global Steam sales charts for paid games.

Other notable activity includes the life-simulation game Songs of Glimmerwick, which maintains a high player rating, and the launch of Star Wars - Galactic Racer, which has also positioned itself high on the Steam bestsellers list despite mixed reviews regarding artificial intelligence and game balance.
