Developments: 2. Serbian basketball player Stefan Jovic is returning to professional competition after a 248-day absence caused by preseason health issues. Following his departure from Bayern Munich, Jovic signed with the Greek club Aris Thessaloniki. Jovic made his debut for the team during a EuroCup match against Rostock. He was expected to make his domestic debut in the Stoiximan Greek Basketball League against Mykonos Betsson, a matchup where head coach Vasilis Spanoulis was likely to utilize the Serbian point guard due to Nenad Dimitrijevic being out of the squad. Aris secured an 88-72 away victory against Mykonos in the fourth round of the Stoiximan GBL. This win marks the team’s third consecutive victory in the domestic league and their fifth overall across Greek and European competitions. E.J. Liddell led the scoring for Aris with 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals, supported by Jeremiah Robinson-Earl with 15 points and Vassilis Toliopoulos with 14 points. The team’s performance was bolstered by strong perimeter shooting and a collective effort resulting in 25 assists. Despite a performance from Mykonos’ Jermaine Love, who scored 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, Mykonos struggled with 23 turnovers. Mykonos coach Vangelis Ziagkos noted that his team struggled with physical and mental fatigue, roster depth, and injuries, specifically mentioning an ankle injury sustained by Konstantinos Iatridis during the match. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-23: Aris basketball team secures 88-72 victory over Mykonos Aris basketball defeated Mykonos 88-72, marking their third straight GBL win and fifth consecutive victory overall. 33 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/aris-basketball-prepares-for-mykonos-matchup-with-stefan-jovic ### 2026-10-19: Stefan Jovic set to return to basketball after 248 days Serbian basketball player Stefan Jovic is returning to competition with Aris Thessaloniki after a 248-day absence due to injury. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/stefan-jovic-set-to-return-to-basketball-after-248-days --- Cite as: Stefan Jovic return to Aris Thessaloniki.
