Reports of rising street crime in West Java have emerged following several incidents in Karawang. In mid-August, a 17-year-old student was targeted by two men on a motorcycle in the Telagasari District. One suspect allegedly used a cutter to threaten the victim before stealing a motorcycle and a mobile phone.

Later in the month, a religious teacher in Pucung Village reported a different theft involving a Honda Scoopy motorcycle. In this instance, a suspect identified as Arifmunawir allegedly gained entry to the victim’s home by posing as a traveler from East Nusa Tenggara. After being provided food and rest, the suspect reportedly fled with the vehicle after requesting a ride home.
