Directed by Kitao Sakurai and set in the early 1990s, the story follows martial artists Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) as they are recruited by Chun-Li (Callina Liang) to participate in the second World Warrior Tournament. The cast features Jason Momoa as Blanka, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, and 50 Cent as Balrog. While the film has seen significant commercial interest, appearing as one of the most-watched films in Portuguese cinemas since its release, critical reception remains mixed. Reviewers have praised the high-energy soundtrack and the emotional dynamic between the two protagonists, noting that their differing approaches to the Ansatsuken martial art provide a cohesive bond. Conversely, some critics have described the live-action experience as “middling,” citing unremarkable performances and a lack of the culturally diverse settings found in the original video games. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-17: Street Fighter film adaptation premieres in theaters The Street Fighter film adaptation, directed by Kitao Sakurai, has premiered.
