Students in Argentina have developed ‘AgroVision’, an interdisciplinary robotics project designed to address agricultural challenges. The self-propelled robot utilizes artificial intelligence and computer vision to distinguish between healthy plants and those that are diseased or infected.

Once a plant is identified as problematic, the system selectively applies phytosanitary products to the affected area. This approach aims to optimize resource use, reduce costs, and protect soil health. The project, a collaboration between programming students and rural mechanical technicians, was presented at the VI International Congress of Educational and Industrial Robotics (Cirei) 2026.
