A series of incidents involving students preparing for competitive examinations has been reported in Kota, Rajasthan.

On October 16, a 16-year-old JEE aspirant was injured during a verbal altercation with a classmate at a coaching institute in Jawahar Nagar. The student was struck on the head with the butt of a toy gun and required hospitalization, though police reported his condition was out of danger.

In late October, two separate fatalities occurred involving students. A 16-year-old JEE aspirant from Madhya Pradesh was found dead in his paying guest accommodation in Mahaveer Nagar First. Additionally, a 19-year-old NEET aspirant from Bihar died at MBS Hospital after being found unresponsive in a hostel bathroom. While authorities are investigating the circumstances of these deaths, the student’s family has raised suspicions, leading police to register a case under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code.
