Recent reports from Telangana highlight separate incidents of suicide involving interactions with the police.

In September, a 35-year-old police constable in Hyderabad died by suicide during a video call. This event follows a trend of suicides among police personnel in the region, with authorities noting that debt from online betting has been a primary driver for several deaths among constables over a four-month period. The Director General of Police has previously appealed to personnel to seek help for personal or financial struggles.

In October, a man in the Jogulamba Gadwal district died by suicide after consuming poison. Before his death, the individual recorded a video alleging he had been physically assaulted and tortured by a sub-inspector and a constable while in custody. Local police have denied these allegations, stating that CCTV footage is available and that the individual had been called in for an inquiry regarding a neighbor's vehicle.
