In one case, two women approximately 80 years old are under investigation for allegedly providing false testimony regarding a sexual abuse case involving a 9-year-old girl. The women, who are relatives of a man already sentenced to four years in prison, reportedly claimed to have received death threats, but surveillance footage has contradicted those statements. 

In a separate matter, a 61-year-old man is facing trial for allegedly stealing approximately thirty handbags from restaurant patrons in the Sulmona area over a ten-month period. Following an incident in January where a bag was snatched in a crowded dining room, investigators used security footage to identify the suspect. Authorities have issued a mandatory expulsion order prohibiting the man from returning to Sulmona, with a court hearing scheduled for February 2027.
