Preparations for the Druivencross in Overijse, the opening round of the eight-event Superprestige cyclocross series, began under weather concerns. Organizers monitored forecasts for Storm Austin, which threatened wind gusts of up to 90 kilometers per hour, leading the committee to remove trees in Mariëndal Park as a safety precaution.

The event commenced on October 25, featuring technical terrain such as cobblestones and steep climbs. In the junior men’s category, 16-year-old Lars Peers secured a victory. In the elite categories, Lucinda Brand emerged as a top favorite for the women’s race, while Michael Vanthourenhout was a primary contender for the men. Notably, Jente Michels was forced to withdraw from the elite race due to gastrointestinal issues.
