Sussex achieved consecutive victories in the Rothesay County Championship during September 2026.

In early September, Sussex defeated Essex by 47 runs at Chelmsford, a result that moved the team clear of relegation concerns in Division One. Despite a 96-run performance from Essex all-rounder Matt Critchley, Sussex secured the win by taking the final three wickets in 21 overs.

Later in the month, Sussex secured a larger 197-run victory over Hampshire at the Utilita Bowl. Following a first-innings score of 244, Sussex bowlers Jaydev Unadkat (5-32) and Tom Price (5-33) helped restrict Hampshire, contributing to Hampshire receiving a record-low four batting points for the season. Sussex extended their lead in the second innings with a declaration at 319-9, driven by a 130 from Tom Haines.
