The event focused on the construction sector’s transition toward resilient urban environments, specifically addressing the dual challenges of the climate crisis and earthquake risks. Murat Savcı, CEO of Saint-Gobain Turkey and President of İMSAD, stated that in a country facing significant earthquake risks, building safe and durable structures is an “unpostponable necessity” rather than a choice. Discussions included panels on earthquake and climate resilience involving experts from Istanbul Technical University and the Turkey Earthquake Foundation. In addition to structural resilience, the discussions touched upon residential maintenance and indoor air quality. Experts noted that managing condensation, moisture, and mold is essential for both living comfort and long-term building integrity, emphasizing that proper ventilation is necessary to address humidity imbalances. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-13: Sustainable construction and air quality management highlighted in Turkey Industry leaders in Turkey are addressing the critical need for earthquake-resilient, sustainable construction and effective indoor air quality management to combat climate and structural risks. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/sustainable-construction-and-air-quality-management-highlighted-in-turkey ### 2026-10-13: Saint-Gobain launches sustainable construction platform in Turkey Saint-Gobain launched its Sustainable Construction Talks in Istanbul, focusing on earthquake resilience and climate change mitigation in Turkey's building sector. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/saint-gobain-launches-sustainable-construction-platform-in-turkey --- Cite as: Sustainable construction initiatives in Turkey.
