The Verdi union initiated a three-day warning strike against Südwestdeutsche Landesverkehrs GmbH (SWEG) from September 30 to October 2. The labor action targets bus and regional train services across several South Baden locations, including Lahr, Offenburg, Kehl, Emmendingen, Müllheim, and Weil am Rhein.

The dispute centers on collective bargaining, with workers demanding protections against operational redundancies and dismissals following the outsourcing of bus lines. Verdi representatives stated the strikes were necessary to force management to the negotiating table, while SWEG management characterized the action as “disproportionate and irresponsible.”
