# Taco Bell officially launches in Germany > Live situation record from CLSTR: https://clstr.news/situations/taco-bell-expansion-into-germany > Updated: 2026-10-03T17:30:18.000Z. Sources: 11. Developments: 4. Taco Bell has officially entered the German commercial market with the opening of its first restaurant in Cologne at Hohenzollernring 50. Following its scheduled launch on September 24, 2026, the opening drew significant crowds, with hundreds of people queuing for hours to sample the Tex-Mex menu. This consumer interest was largely driven by social media hype and influencer marketing. While the brand previously operated only at U.S. military bases in Germany, this launch marks its first permanent commercial establishment in the country. The expansion utilizes a multi-franchise model in partnership with Feel Better Holding and the Schaal Group to avoid the franchise disputes that hindered a previous attempt to enter the market in 2024. Owned by Yum! Brands, the company has set an ambitious long-term goal to reach up to 150 locations in Germany by 2030. The expansion strategy focuses on major metropolitan areas, with additional locations already in development or planned for Berlin, Stuttgart, and Frankfurt. The company continues to identify high growth potential in North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg, and the Berlin metropolitan region. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-03: Taco Bell opens first German restaurant in Cologne Taco Bell has opened its first public German restaurant in Cologne, drawing large crowds fueled by social media hype as the chain begins its national expansion. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/taco-bell-opens-first-german-restaurant-in-cologne ### 2026-09-21: Taco Bell to open first German restaurant in Cologne Taco Bell is expanding into Germany with its first restaurant opening in Cologne on September 24, part of a long-term plan to reach cities like Berlin and Stuttgart via a multi-franchise model. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/taco-bell-to-open-first-german-restaurant-in-cologne-1 ### 2026-09-10: Taco Bell expands to Germany as BoConcept faces insolvency in NRW Taco Bell is opening its first German restaurant in Cologne this September, while furniture retailer BoConcept faces insolvency in several North Rhine-Westphalia locations. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/taco-bell-expands-to-germany-as-boconcept-faces-insolvency-in-nrw ### 2026-09-08: Taco Bell to open first German restaurant in Cologne Taco Bell will open its first regular German restaurant in Cologne by late September 2026, marking the brand's official entry into the country via a new regional developer expansion model. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/taco-bell-to-open-first-german-restaurant-in-cologne --- Cite as: Taco Bell officially launches in Germany.
