Sources: 15. Developments: 2. In late September 2026, Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogačar was seen training at the Možnjanca climb alongside partner Urška Žigart and Danish cyclist Mikkel Frølich Honoré. While Pogačar was not scheduled to compete in the European Cycling Championships, he planned to attend the event as a spectator. By mid-October, discussions shifted toward Pogačar’s competitive future and potential challengers. Analysts have questioned whether riders such as Remco Evenepoel and Jonas Vingegaard can bridge the gap to the Slovenian star, suggesting that rising talent Paul Seixas may be a more viable contender despite current performance disparities in high-mountain racing. On October 17, 2026, Pogačar clarified the nature of the injuries sustained during the Vuelta a España, debunking rumors by stating his crash was caused by hitting a large stone. He revealed the injuries included a fractured collarbone, a broken vertebra, and a concussion, noting that the fear of further injury had prevented his participation in the European Championships. Looking ahead to the 2027 season, the UAE Team Emirates rider announced his primary objectives are the Tour de France, the World Championships, and the Vuelta a España. He has already begun training preparations and intends to meet with team management in Abu Dhabi to finalize his schedule. Additionally, during a charity gala in Slovenia, Pogačar highlighted his foundation’s success in raising funds for those with serious illnesses and families affected by severe storms in Komenda. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-17: Tadej Pogačar announces 2027 cycling goals Cyclist Tadej Pogačar has set his sights on the 2027 Tour de France, World Championships, and Vuelta a España following a serious injury caused by a stone during his previous Vuelta campaign. 12 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/tadej-pogacars-dominance-discussed-amid-rising-talent-and-early-season-predictions ### 2026-09-29: Tadej Pogačar visits Možnjanca ahead of European Championships Tadej Pogačar and Urška Žigart visited the Možnjanca climb to train; Pogačar will attend the European Cycling Championships as a spectator rather than a competitor. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/tadej-pogaar-visits-monjanca-ahead-of-european-championships --- Cite as: Tadej Pogačar professional cycling activities.
