In observance of the Chongyang Festival, local governments across Taiwan are implementing various welfare initiatives and subsidies to honor senior citizens.

The county government is also promoting long-term support through community care centers and the ‘Changhua County Senior Happiness Card,’ which provides monthly subsidies for local purchases.

Taichung City has established a tiered subsidy system for over 530,000 seniors. Residents aged 65 to 89 receive 2,000 TWD, those aged 90 to 94 receive 3,000 TWD, those aged 95 to 99 receive 5,000 TWD, and centenarians receive 10,000 TWD.
