The confrontation escalated as the refusal expanded to include four passed laws. This move triggered sharp criticism from opposition leaders. Legislative Yuan Speaker Han Kuo-yu warned that refusing to execute laws undermines the constitutional order, while Taiwan People's Party Chairman Huang Kuo-chang accused the administration of attempting to bypass the legislature and acting as if they hold “sole constitutional interpretation powers.”

In response to the growing deadlock, the Kuomintang (KMT) has accused the Premier of using the countersignature power as a political weapon to effectively veto laws, arguing that the administration should instead utilize formal reconsideration processes. The KMT characterized the refusal as an ‘administrative dictatorship’ that places the Premier above the legislature. 

Simultaneously, the Taiwan People's Party (TPP) has proposed a motion in the Legislative Yuan to formally condemn Premier Cho, alleging that the administration is disregarding legislative authority and damaging the democratic system by blocking various bills.
