In New Taipei City, the government announced a flag-raising ceremony at the Second Administrative Center featuring musical performances, street performances, and a morning market. The city plans to display approximately 5,000 national flags across bridges, schools, and government buildings. Nationwide activities include a gala at Banqiao Stadium and fireworks in Taitung. In Taichung, the city government will host a flag-raising ceremony at the Civic Plaza themed ‘Radiant National Day, Happy Taichung’. The event will feature a drone formation flying a national flag in a goose-like pattern and 76 reservists presenting a large flag. The De-Fu-Lan Elementary School youth baseball team, recent world champions, has been invited to lead the singing of the national anthem. As the holiday progresses, Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen presided over her final National Day flag-raising ceremony before her term ends. In her speech, she articulated five core convictions: upholding the Republic of China, protecting the constitution, maintaining democracy and freedom, prioritizing people's livelihoods, and ensuring regional stability and peace in the Taiwan Strait. During the celebrations, municipal leaders integrated civic festivities with political messaging. In Taipei, Mayor Chiang Wan-an highlighted urban development goals, including infrastructure projects like the Wandan Line and AI industry integration. In Taoyuan, Mayor Chang Shan-cheng led a ceremony honoring veterans of the Guangwu and August 23rd battles. In New Taipei City, political activity intensified as mayoral candidate Li Sichuan received endorsements from Hou You-yi and Chiayi Mayor Huang Min-hie. Additionally, a decade-long flag-raising tradition in Linkou drew thousands of residents. At the Presidential Office, the main ceremony will include indigenous music and dance, alongside a parade honoring athletes who won medals at the Nagoya Asian Games. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-10: Taiwanese municipal leaders hold National Day events and political rallies Taiwanese municipal leaders celebrated National Day through various civic events, ranging from historical commemorations in Taoyuan to infrastructure updates in Taipei and political campaigning in New Taipei. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/chiang-wan-an-celebrates-national-day-and-outlines-taipei-ai-goals ### 2026-10-07: Taiwan prepares for National Day celebrations and light shows Taiwan marks National Day with Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen managing an intensive holiday schedule and the Presidential Office hosting a light projection show celebrating 30 years of democracy. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/taiwan-prepares-for-national-day-celebrations-and-light-shows ### 2026-10-02: Taiwan prepares for National Day celebrations Taiwan prepares for National Day celebrations on October 10, featuring flag-raising ceremonies in Taichung, a gala in New Taipei City, and light shows at the Presidential Office. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/taiwan-prepares-for-national-day-celebrations ### 2026-09-29: New Taipei City to host National Day ceremony at Second Administrative Center New Taipei City will host its National Day flag-raising ceremony on October 10 at the Second Administrative Center, featuring musical performances, street shows, and community festivities. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/new-taipei-city-to-host-national-day-ceremony-at-second-administrative-center --- Cite as: Taiwan National Day celebrations.
