Sources: 4. Developments: 2. Taiwan has implemented various initiatives to integrate cultural narratives with environmental awareness. Early efforts focused on exhibitions and film, such as the ‘RE-seeing: Zeppelin Overlooking Taiwan’ exhibition, which used aerial photography to encourage environmental stewardship, and screenings of the documentary ‘520 Incident’ regarding the 1988 farmers' movement. Subsequent developments show an expansion of these themes through government-led projects and international recognition. The Ministry of Culture is advancing the ‘Thousand Miles of Cultural Forest’ initiative, which seeks to connect cultural sites with ecology and sports through projects like the second phase of the National Museum of Taiwan History. Additionally, the documentary ‘Song of Life,’ highlighting the biodiversity of the Aogu Wetland Forest Park, received international acclaim by winning the Silver Award for Ecological Response at the 2026 SILKFEST film festival in Serbia. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-14: Taiwan promotes cultural-ecological integration through museum expansion and award-winning nature films Taiwan promotes cultural-ecological integration through the National Museum of Taiwan History expansion, while a Chiayi wetland documentary wins a silver award at Serbia's SILKFEST film festival. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/taiwan-promotes-cultural-ecological-integration-through-museum-expansion-and-award-winning-nature-fi ### 2026-09-19: Taiwanese cultural events highlight environmental and historical narratives Taiwanese cultural events are using aerial photography exhibitions and historical documentaries to explore environmental conservation and the legacy of the 1988 farmers' rights movement. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/taiwanese-cultural-events-highlight-environmental-and-historical-narratives --- Cite as: Taiwanese cultural and ecological initiatives.
