Tanzania is intensifying its forest conservation and restoration efforts through various national and international initiatives. The Tanzania Forest Services Agency (TFS) is leading localized projects, such as a tree-planting campaign in the Kondoa District and an initiative in the Kaliua District to raise one million seedlings to restore degraded forests in the Western Zone.

Environmental awareness is also being promoted through events like the Serengeti Rally of Tanzania 2026, held at the Morogoro Tree Plantation. On an international level, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Committee on Forestry (COFO) has emphasized the necessity for increased technical and financial investment, including cloud-connected technologies, to address wildfires, forest degradation, and climate change.
