The Chinese contemporary dance company Tao Dance Theater is performing its minimalist ‘Numerical Series’, specifically works ‘13’ and ‘14’, at various venues in Spain. Led by choreographer Tao Ye and artistic director Duan Ni, the company utilizes a radical approach that emphasizes geometric precision, rigorous rhythm, and extreme physical discipline while stripping away traditional narrative.

Performances are scheduled at locations including the Arriaga Theatre in Bilbao, the Auditórium de Palma, and the Palacio de Congresos y Auditorio de Navarra Baluarte as part of the Encuentros de Pamplona/Iruñeko Topaketak 2026 programming. The works, which previously earned the Silver Lion for Dance at the 2023 Venice Biennale, focus on the body as a pure medium through circular movements and minimalist musical accompaniment.
