Taylor Swift made a significant appearance at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, initially drawing attention for her red carpet fashion. She wore a transparent black corset and silver skirt while preparing to present her new single, ‘Patient Zero’.

Swift subsequently set a new record at the ceremony as the most-awarded artist in VMA history, winning Video of the Year for ‘The Fate of Ophelia’, Best Direction for ‘Opalite’, and the inaugural Artist Director Honors. During her acceptance speeches, Swift notably omitted any mention of her husband, Travis Kelce. Reports suggest this was a deliberate effort to avoid ‘Taylor-and-Travis fatigue’ and protect the privacy of their marriage from public overexposure. Kelce, who missed the event due to a football game, expressed support for Swift through social media.
