Developments: 2. Taylor Swift has made several high-profile surprise appearances on television programs. In September 2026, she appeared in a sketch during the Emmys alongside the cast of ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’. Actor Ice-T noted that the production maintained a strict gag order to keep the cameo secret and described Swift as a “very focused and professional person”. In October 2026, Swift made a surprise cameo during Dakota Johnson’s monologue on Saturday Night Live. To ensure the surprise remained intact for the live broadcast, the appearance was kept secret even from the rehearsal audience, with cast member Sarah Sherman performing the scripted exchange during dress rehearsals. During the segment, Johnson jokingly referred to Swift as a ‘literal therapist’ whom she visits to ‘flop on my couch and overshare’ while drinking wine. The two shared a comedic exchange where Swift jokingly denied the label, instead describing their friendship through humorous domestic anecdotes. The appearance also included a nod to Swift’s husband, Travis Kelce, through a mention of his hometown, Cleveland. This cameo follows recent professional collaborations and public displays of friendship between the two, including Johnson appearing in Swift’s ‘Patient Zero’ music video and their joint attendance at the 2026 MTV VMAs. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-04: Taylor Swift makes surprise cameo on Dakota Johnson’s SNL monologue Taylor Swift made a surprise, secret cameo during Dakota Johnson’s Saturday Night Live monologue, featuring a comedic sketch about their friendship and Johnson’s dating history. 8 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/taylor-swift-makes-surprise-cameo-during-dakota-johnsons-snl-monologue ### 2026-09-15: Taylor Swift makes surprise cameo during Emmys sketch Taylor Swift made a surprise cameo in a ‘Law & Order: SVU’ sketch during the Emmys, hosted by Mariska Hargitay, following a strict production gag order. 7 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/taylor-swift-makes-surprise-cameo-during-emmys-sketch --- Cite as: Taylor Swift television appearances.
