The TCU Horned Frogs began their Big 12 conference season with a 21-13 loss to the UCF Knights. During that contest, the team struggled with turnovers and discipline, recording double-digit penalties and managing only 33 rushing yards.

Following losses to North Carolina and UCF, the team entered a matchup against No. 10 BYU with a 2-2 record. Internal performance concerns led to a players-only meeting to address the team’s lack of execution. Head coach Sonny Dykes noted that players took the initiative to discuss these issues, while acknowledging that confidence and discipline have become significant hurdles. The program currently ranks 113th nationally in penalties per game.
