In Sóller, plans are underway to transform the Teatre Defensora into a modern, multi-purpose cultural space. The rehabilitation project aims to preserve the building’s historical identity through structural consolidation while adapting the venue to host diverse activities, including theatrical performances, concerts, film screenings, and exhibitions.

Following discussions between the project’s drafting team and municipal technicians to align technical criteria, the initiative is moving toward a final execution plan. Mayor Miquel Nadal noted that coordination is essential to ensure the recovery is conducted with “rigor, safety, and respect for its patrimonial value.” This plan will eventually serve as the basis for securing funding for the works.
