On October 10, 1971, an aircraft carrying nine dancers from the Teatro Colón’s stable company crashed into the Río de la Plata while returning to Aeroparque, resulting in no survivors. The accident, which claimed the lives of prominent dancers such as Norma Fontenla and José Neglia, significantly impacted the Argentine ballet scene.
