The historic Teatro Eliseo in Rome is reopening after a six-year period of inactivity. Under the artistic direction of Alessandro Longobardi and management by Viola Produzioni, the theater will inaugurate its 2026/2027 season using two distinct stages with a combined capacity of 950 seats. The Piccolo Eliseo hall resumed activities on October 2 with the production ‘Turbati come siamo, pallidi di preoccupazioni’ by Lucia Calamaro, which addresses themes of social anxiety and economic precariousness. The main hall on Via Nazionale is scheduled to officially debut its new season on October 28, marked by the production ‘Dylan Dog – Horror Show’. The broader season is intended to encompass a diverse program including classical prose, new dramaturgy, music, and international projects. This reopening is noted as part of a wider municipal effort to support cultural spaces within the capital. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-04: Teatro Eliseo reopens in Rome after six years Rome's Teatro Eliseo and Piccolo Eliseo are reopening after six years, with the main hall set to debut its 2026/27 season on October 28. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/teatro-eliseo-reopens-in-rome-after-six-years ### 2026-09-20: Teatro Eliseo reopens after six-year closure Teatro Eliseo reopens after six years with a new season featuring classical prose, contemporary drama, and international projects under the direction of Alessandro Longobardi. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/teatro-eliseo-reopens-after-six-year-closure ### 2026-09-18: Teatro Eliseo reopens in Rome after six years of inactivity Rome's historic Teatro Eliseo reopens this October after six years, while Naples hosts a new production on the Neapolitan Revolution at Masseria Luce. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/teatro-eliseo-reopens-in-rome-after-six-years-of-inactivity --- Cite as: Teatro Eliseo reopening in Rome.
