The province of Chubut is advancing technical education through new infrastructure and renewable energy integration.

In Rawson, Escuela Politécnica N° 702 has become the first educational institution in the provincial capital to implement a solar energy generation system. The installation was completed by the Cooperativa de Servicios Públicos, Consumo y Vivienda Rawson Ltda., using equipment donated by Multisolar and Portal Solar, with labor provided by Península Energía y Servicios. The system, which includes six Trina Solar panels, a Growatt inverter, and a Leoch battery for energy storage, serves as a practical learning resource for students studying electricity, energy efficiency, and new technologies. The cooperative plans to host educational sessions to assist students in understanding the technical components and the potential of solar power generation.

Furthering these efforts, Governor Ignacio Torres and the Sindicato de Petroleros Jerárquicos announced the construction of the Escuela Tecnológica de la Patagonia Austral in Comodoro Rivadavia. In a recent site visit, Governor Torres highlighted the structure of this public-private partnership: the Sindicato del Personal Jerárquico del Petróleo y Gas Privado de la Patagonia Austral is responsible for the building’s construction, while the provincial government manages pedagogical and institutional planning.

Scheduled to open for the 2027 school year, the facility will provide primary and technical secondary education. The school is designed to meet modern educational needs through specialized workshops and advanced technological tools, including interactive screens in all classrooms.
