Following the November 2025 detention of actress and producer Truong Ngoc Anh for ‘abuse of trust to appropriate property’, the Vietnamese film ‘Mãi nợ một lời tạm biệt’ (formerly ‘Chiếc kén’) underwent significant technical modifications. To complete the theatrical version, the production team utilized AI, CGI, and voice replacement to remove Truong Ngoc Anh’s image and voice from the film.

These technical adjustments, which included Automated Dialogue Replacement (ADR), increased the production budget by approximately 10%, raising the total cost from an estimated $1 million USD to roughly $1.15 million USD. 

Despite these efforts, the film has faced severe financial difficulties at the box office. While the production requires revenue of at least 55 to 60 billion VND to break even, the film earned only 1.5 billion VND within its first five days of release.
