Sources: 5. Developments: 2. The Telangana government has initiated several requests for central assistance to address environmental and infrastructural needs. Initially, the state legislature passed resolutions seeking financial aid from the Union Government to mitigate the effects of severe rainfall deficits and El Niño conditions. This request included funds from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) to support crop loss, livestock protection, and water resource restoration. Following these requests, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met with the Union Jal Shakti Minister to advocate for specific irrigation and water management projects. Key discussions centered on obtaining central assistance to facilitate an agreement with the Maharashtra government regarding the Tummiddihatti Barrage. The Chief Minister also urged the expedited issuance of environmental clearances for multiple schemes, including the Palamuru-Rangareddy and Dindi Lift Irrigation schemes, noting that delays have contributed to rising construction costs. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-29: Telangana CM seeks central aid for Tummiddihatti Barrage and irrigation projects Telangana CM Revanth Reddy met Union Minister C.
