These delays primarily affected self-employed individuals and those on civil law contracts, such as technicians and production managers, with some arrears dating back to June. Some contractors threatened to withhold work due to the lack of funds for living expenses. TVP attributed these difficulties to a wait for funding from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Following these delays, the broadcaster received substantial state budget subsidies, including transfers of 180 million PLN in late September and 360 million PLN in early October. While these subsidies addressed funding needs, concerns have emerged regarding the efficiency of expenditures. Investigations have highlighted high production costs for programs with low viewership, and the Central Anticorruption Bureau has previously looked into allegations of mismanagement and nepotism related to media funding. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-15: Telewizja Polska receives significant state budget subsidies Telewizja Polska receives massive state budget subsidies, including recent transfers of hundreds of millions of PLN, amid scrutiny over high production costs for programs with minimal viewership. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/telewizja-polska-receives-significant-state-budget-subsidies ### 2026-09-24: Telewizja Polska faces payment delays for hundreds of collaborators Telewizja Polska is experiencing payment delays affecting hundreds of contractors, including production staff.
