Joshua Kerry, 28, has appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court and the Old Bailey facing charges for the preparation of terrorist acts and the murder of former Conservative MP and Reform UK spokeswoman Ann Widdecombe. Prosecutors allege that Kerry’s actions were politically and ideologically motivated by a “particular hostility towards Reform.” The terrorism charges relate to activities between May 2024 and July 2026, which included conducting online reconnaissance on prominent figures and institutions. Evidence presented in court included notes on Kerry’s mobile phone containing the home and office addresses of various politicians, including Reform UK leader Nigel Farage. Investigators allege that Kerry traveled to Farage’s residence in April 2025, where they discovered damage to the front door and a bottle of lighter fluid in the porch, suggesting an attempted entry or attack. This follows the reopening of a counter-terrorism probe into a previous incident at the residence. Kerry is also the primary suspect in the murder of 78-year-old Ann Widdecombe, who was found dead in her Devon home in July after being struck multiple times with a hammer. Legal proceedings have linked the alleged terror plot to the same individual accused of the fatal attack on the veteran politician. Reform UK officials have stated that the murder highlights the urgent need for enhanced security for political figures. A trial for both charges has been scheduled for June 8, 2026. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-08: Joshua Kerry charged with terrorism plots targeting Nigel Farage Joshua Kerry faces terrorism charges alongside murder charges for the death of Reform UK's Ann Widdecombe, with prosecutors alleging his motives were politically driven and targeted Nigel Farage. 7 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/joshua-kerry-charged-with-terrorism-plots-targeting-nigel-farage ### 2026-10-05: Joshua Kerry charged with terror plot targeting Nigel Farage Joshua Kerry has been charged with preparing terrorist acts targeting Nigel Farage and is also accused of the murder of Ann Widdecombe. 7 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/joshua-kerry-charged-with-terror-plot-targeting-nigel-farage ### 2026-10-02: Joshua Kerry charged with terror plot against Nigel Farage Joshua Kerry, 28, has been charged with preparing terrorist acts, including a plot against Nigel Farage, while already facing murder charges for the death of politician Ann Widdecombe. 60 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/joshua-kerry-charged-with-terror-plot-against-nigel-farage --- Cite as: Terrorism and murder charges against Joshua Kerry.
