In early September 2026, Beşiktaş attempted to sign Dutch midfielder Teun Koopmeiners from Juventus. While reports indicated the player was open to the move on a salary of approximately 6 million euros per year, Juventus rejected Beşiktaş’s initial official transfer offer.

By late September, the situation evolved as Juventus began considering a sale of the 28-year-old during the upcoming January transfer window due to his struggles with consistent form and playing time. While Juventus reportedly prefers a permanent sale valued at approximately 25 million euros to fund winter investments, they may consider a loan deal. Interest in the player has expanded beyond Beşiktaş to include Premier League clubs Everton and Newcastle United, as well as AS Monaco and Galatasaray.

By early October, interest has intensified with Bayer Leverkusen reportedly monitoring the midfielder due to his tactical versatility. Koopmeiners has shown the ability to play as a defensive midfielder, an attacking midfielder, or within a back three, a flexibility noted during recent international duty with the Netherlands.

Everton remains a potential suitor, considering either a loan or a permanent transfer to bolster their midfield. Juventus continues to appear open to various offers, including loans, as they seek to manage their financial situation and recoup part of their initial investment in the player, who has recorded only 131 minutes of Serie A action this season.
