Efforts to advance artificial intelligence and digital literacy in Thailand have progressed from localized training initiatives to large-scale strategic partnerships and national digital platforms.

In late August 2026, the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) conducted a training program in Songkhla titled ‘Megatrend Arrow: Flipping the Business Game, Accelerating with AI’. This initiative focused on upskilling small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in areas such as consumer data analysis, marketing, and international market expansion to enhance competitiveness in the digital economy.

Following this, CP Group, Arise Ventures Group, True Corporation, and Amazon announced a five-year strategic partnership known as the ‘Thailand AI National Mission’. Utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS), the mission aims to provide AI and cloud skills training to 3 million Thais. The collaboration intends to integrate AI across telecommunications, financial services, and retail sectors, while also launching the ‘AI FOR ALL’ hackathon to foster generative AI prototypes for public health, agriculture, and education.

Expanding on these digital upskilling efforts, Minister of Labour Julapun Amornvivat launched the ‘One Platform for Skill Development’ in September 2026. This digital initiative, a collaboration between the Department of Skill Development and private sector partners, aims to address workforce changes driven by automation and artificial intelligence. The platform currently offers 967 online courses from 41 private entities, covering topics such as sales strategies using Generative AI. To drive engagement, participating companies may receive tax incentives and reductions in skill development fund contributions.
