Sources: 4. Developments: 2. The Thai government is implementing several initiatives to modernize its agricultural and technology sectors. Early efforts focused on introducing specific agricultural innovations in Kamphaeng Phet province, such as cost-reducing fertilizers, disease-free cassava seedlings, and weather-resistant banana varieties. Concurrently, the government established a target to train 10,000 semiconductor specialists through partnerships between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) and the Ministry of Labour. Subsequent developments show an expansion of these strategic goals through the “Thailand²: Nation of Master” plan. This framework includes the “Siam Silica” pillar to integrate the country into the semiconductor industry via photonics and IC design, “Siam Medica” for high-value health industries, and “Siam Terra” to upgrade agriculture and services. Additionally, the government is considering clean energy transitions, including the “People's Solar Project” to provide household subsidies and tax reductions for biofuels to support farmers. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-27: Thailand proposes solar subsidies and new innovation policies Thailand is advancing clean energy through a 50,000 baht solar subsidy per household and launching the “Thailand²” initiative to boost semiconductor, medical, and agricultural innovation. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/thailand-proposes-solar-subsidies-and-new-innovation-policies ### 2026-10-25: Thailand government promotes agricultural innovation and semiconductor workforce development Thailand is pushing agricultural innovations, such as rice-leaf tea and cost-reducing fertilizers, while aiming to train 10,000 semiconductor workers within five years to boost the high-tech economy. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/thailand-government-promotes-agricultural-innovation-and-semiconductor-workforce-development --- Cite as: Thailand technological and agricultural development.
