Directors Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja are reimagining the Dr. Seuss classic for a new animated feature. The film expands the character’s universe, portraying the Cat as a professional tasked with helping two siblings, Gabby and Sebastian, adapt to a new city. The production aims to balance comedy with emotional depth, exploring whether the Cat functions similarly to a child psychologist.

The voice cast for the original version includes Bill Hader as the Cat, alongside Xochitl Gomez, Quinta Brunson, Matt Berry, Giancarlo Esposito, and America Ferrera. Additionally, actor Alfonso Herrera has been set to provide the main voice dubbing for the film. Herrera described the role as a challenge due to the character’s high energy and rapid verbal abilities. The Warner Animation Studios production utilizes 2D animation, which Herrera noted relies on artisanal intelligence rather than artificial intelligence to encourage imagination in children.
