The anime adaptation of the manga series ‘The Vermilion Mask’ is scheduled for release in two parts. The first cour, consisting of 12 episodes, premiered on October 10, 2026, airing on Yomiuri TV and NTV in Japan and streaming internationally via Crunchyroll.

Following the premiere, non-credit opening and ending videos were released. The opening sequence features the song ‘Firestarter’ by the rock band MAN WITH A MISSION, depicting protagonists Peru d’Arrest, Sonarue Maywood, and Mok Sharib traveling to destroy masks while showing imagery of their traumatic pasts. The band described the track as a song intended to “encourage characters burdened by a cruel fate.”

The ending sequence features the song ‘Koe’ by the band yutori, focusing on the emotional weight and loneliness of the central trio. The band noted the theme reflects “moving forward while carrying an unerasable past.”

The second cour is confirmed to begin in April 2027. The production is directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe and produced by 100studio. The story follows Peru, an apprentice who seeks to destroy all masks created by his mentor, Gaston Lou, after accidentally killing his master and companions while possessed by the ‘Mask of the War God’.
