The Teatro Amazonas in Manaus is hosting various theatrical productions. In early October, the venue scheduled a free performance of ‘A Ilha Profana do Cantagalo’ by Grupo Jurubebas de Teatro as part of the 20th Amazon Theater Festival. This production, which incorporates Afro-Amazonian rhythms and themes of the supernatural, follows a tour of several Brazilian states.

Later in the month, it was announced that actor Mateus Solano will perform his first monologue, the comedy ‘O Figurante’, at the theater in late November. The play explores themes of invisibility and belonging through the character of an audiovisual extra.
