Various theatrical productions inspired by the life and work of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo are being staged internationally.

In Greece, the Theatrini Culture and Arts Center is scheduled to host ‘VIVA LA VIDA’ at the Larissa Arts Theatre. This production, which follows a tour in Magnesia, utilizes theatre, dance, movement, and music to explore Kahlo’s personal history, including her relationship with Diego Rivera and her transformation of physical pain into art.

In Argentina, actress Laura Azcurra is performing the solo play ‘Frida, ¡Viva la Vida!’ at the Teatro Municipal in San Juan. Written by Humberto Robles and directed by Julia Morgado, the play is set during a single night of the Day of the Dead as Kahlo prepares a traditional altar, focusing on her memories and artistic legacy.
