EgyÉletem Produkció has announced a new theatrical production centered on the life of Nobel Prize-winning Hungarian biochemist Katalin Karikó. The play, written by Bence Bíró and directed by Renátó Olasz, is scheduled to premiere on November 15, 2026, at the Átrium stage in Budapest.

Based on Karikó’s autobiography, ‘Breakthroughs – My Life and Science’, the performance features actress Dorottya Udvaros in the lead role. The production aims to highlight the personal struggles, failures, and perseverance that preceded Karikó’s scientific achievements in mRNA vaccine research, which earned her the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2023.

Following the Budapest premiere, the production is planned to embark on a national tour. It is expected that Karikó will attend the premiere as a guest of honor, marking the first meeting between the scientist and the actress portraying her.
