Reports of theft incidents have emerged in various regions of Taiwan, including Pingtung and Taoyuan. 

In August, a theft in Pingtung County involved a woman captured on surveillance taking a broken television from a residence. Concurrently, in Taoyuan City, a delivery driver’s motorcycle was stolen while the engine was running; the driver later recovered the vehicle after the suspect indicated where it would be left.

By September, police in Pingtung City arrested a 38-year-old man, surnamed Chu, for stealing a charity donation box from a shop. The suspect was identified via neighbor surveillance footage and apprehended near a temple in Changzhi Township.
