Phoenix police arrested Daniel Thompson and Michael Hummel in connection with a September 27 storage unit burglary. The theft targeted the belongings of former Major League Baseball player Daniel Johnson, resulting in the loss of approximately $93,000 worth of property, including electronics, high-end purses, and baseball memorabilia.

Johnson, who has played for several teams including the San Francisco Giants and Houston Astros, noted that some stolen items were intended for his God Family Ball Foundation charity. Authorities identified the suspects after a pawn shop employee recognized them from surveillance images released by police while they were attempting to sell stolen collector shoes. A subsequent search warrant led to the recovery of various items.
