Time Out, in partnership with Intrepid Travel, released a 2026 ranking of the best global cities for Generation Z. Based on a survey of 4,000 individuals aged 18–29 across 150 cities, the study evaluated criteria such as happiness, nightlife, affordability, community, and cultural offerings.

Tokyo was ranked as the top city, noted specifically for its nightlife and high happiness scores. Porto and Melbourne followed in second and third place, respectively. Other top-ranking cities included Edinburgh and Shanghai.
