Heavy rains on 29 June 2026 damaged the Boko bridge in the Vo prefecture and the Anfoin bridge in the Lacs prefecture along the Lomé-Vogan-Anfoin road. Following a technical assessment by the Togo Ministry of Public Works, the structures were deemed fragile, leading to a ban on light vehicles, heavy trucks, and public transport. Use of the bridges was restricted to pedestrians and two-wheelers, with a detour established via Vogan – Agnron Copé – Glidji.

Despite official restrictions, reports indicate that racketeers, allegedly assisted by some police personnel, have been allowing vehicles to cross the bridges for a fee. Authorities have called for urgent reinforcement work to mitigate risks to road users.
