West Ham United midfielder Tomáš Souček entered advanced contract negotiations in early October 2026. Despite previously expressing interest in leaving the club for Italy in June, the 31-year-old Czech Republic international indicated an intention to retire at West Ham while recovering from an ankle ligament injury.

By mid-October, Souček officially signed a contract extension, committing to the London club until the summer of 2028. Manager Nuno Espírito Santo described the midfielder as a ‘key figure’ and a professional example for younger players. Souček noted that the club ‘means so much’ to him after spending nearly seven years with the team.
