Misfits Boxing announced that former UFC fighter Tony Ferguson would defend his middleweight title in Miami, Florida. Initial reports identified Kenzo Biyong as the scheduled opponent for the September 26 event.

By the time of the press conference, the matchup had shifted to a title defense against Mahmoud Sebie. Sebie, who traveled from Egypt, reportedly accepted the fight on short notice after months of discussions with the promotion. During the event, Ferguson criticized the “chaotic atmosphere” of the press conference, noting that the shouting and near-confrontations were inappropriate for younger viewers.

On the fight card at the James L. Knight Center, Ferguson secured a TKO victory over Sebie, bringing his Misfits record to 3-0. Following the match, Ferguson discussed the emotional difficulty of competing after the recent loss of his mother in August. He noted that while he successfully capitalized on Sebie’s aggressive start, he experienced a difficult second round where a shot from Sebie wobbled him. Ferguson stated he intends to improve his performance in the opening rounds of future bouts.
