The Toronto Tempo, an expansion team in the WNBA, faced a challenging inaugural season. In late August, the team suffered a 90-78 defeat against the Seattle Storm, playing without top scorers Marina Mabrey, Brittney Sykes, and Nyara Sabally due to injuries.

By late September, the Tempo concluded their home schedule with a significant 106-69 loss to the New York Liberty. This defeat extended a losing streak to six games and brought the team’s final season record to 11-31. Despite the losses, the team maintained strong local engagement, including a sellout crowd for the home finale. Rookie Laura Juskaite recorded a career-high 28 points during the final matchup, though she noted that the team’s performance did not reflect their intended style of play.
