Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation announced the launch of its TXZ+ Family Entry-Class M4V and M4L Group microcontrollers. These Arm Cortex-M4 based devices, operating at up to 80 MHz, are designed for IoT, industrial equipment, and motor control applications.

The M4V group focuses on standard IoT and industrial use, featuring a multilayered security architecture to prevent unauthorized access and program tampering. The M4L group is optimized for motor control, incorporating dedicated hardware accelerators—including the Advanced Vector Engine (A-VE2), Advanced Programmable Motor Driver (A-PMD2), and Advanced Encoder (A-ENC2)—to offload real-time field-oriented control tasks.

Both groups support firmware-over-the-air (FOTA) updates and include security features such as Chip Protection (CPRO), Secure Access Memory (SAM), and Non-Rewritable Flash Protection (NRFP). Toshiba has commenced volume production and sampling for these microcontrollers.
