# Tourism and gastronomy development in Albacete

The Albacete region is implementing various initiatives to promote local tourism and economic growth. In late October, approximately 40 companies in the hospitality and travel sectors participated in a workshop in Ossa de Montiel. This session, part of the SACAM Integral Action Plan, focused on developing cycle tourism, particularly around the Vía Verde Sierra de Alcaraz, by integrating cycling routes with local gastronomy and cultural heritage.

Following this, local municipalities organized culinary events to boost the economy and celebrate regional heritage. Albacete hosted its second annual Heritage Gastronomic Route to commemorate the anniversary of the Privilegio de Villazgo, featuring local dishes and museum visits. Simultaneously, Posadas held the Posadas Gourmet 2026 tapas route, involving 18 local establishments and featuring a competition for the Best Popular Tapas award.
