The Yerköprü Waterfall is being developed as a significant tourism destination through various regional efforts.

In Konya, the Konya Metropolitan Municipality has implemented environmental landscaping projects in the Hadim district. Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay noted that these improvements aim to protect natural and cultural riches while increasing visitor comfort and accessibility.

In Mersin, the waterfall located in the Mut district is attracting domestic and international tourists. As a registered ‘Natural Monument’ on the Ermenek Stream, the site features a 30-meter drop through a tunnel of stalactites. The area includes infrastructure such as walking trails, bridges, and observation terraces to support visitors from countries including Austria and Russia.

Recent reports highlight that the site is officially protected as a nature park and a first-degree protected area, having been registered as one of Turkey’s 110 ‘Natural Monuments’ by the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks. Formed approximately 110 million years ago during the Cretaceous Period, the waterfall flows over the Ermenek Stream through a tunnel of undisturbed stalactites and diverse vegetation, including plane, fig, and pomegranate trees.

As of August 2026, the site continues to draw significant attention due to its unique ecosystem and scenic beauty, particularly during hot weather. The waterfall flows through deep valleys and the Gezende Canyon, supported by established infrastructure including stairs, resting areas, and walking paths to facilitate the visitor experience.
