Tourism initiatives in Brazil are focusing on diverse regional attractions, ranging from mountain landscapes to wellness destinations. In the Capixaba Mountains of Espírito Santo, areas such as Vargem Alta, Pedra Azul, Castelo, and Domingos Martins are gaining popularity as alternatives to coastal regions due to their temperate climates and Atlantic Forest environments. Vargem Alta specifically features the Águia Branca Environmental Reserve, which covers approximately 2,200 hectares and hosts over 350 bird species.

Efforts in Rio de Janeiro, specifically in Nova Friburgo, involve workshops aimed at transitioning municipal tourism plans into collective local actions. A scheduled workshop titled “From Plan to Action — A Destination is Built Together” features Cícero Peralta, former president of the Bonito Municipal Tourism Council, to share governance and planning strategies.

In other regions, tourism is centered on natural, historical, and cultural sites. The Biribiri State Park in the Serra do Espinhaço region remains a key location, while the Chapada dos Veadeiros in Goiás continues to develop as a wellness destination. New developments include the Raízes do Brejo Cultural Route in Alagoinha, Paraíba, which highlights music, gastronomy, and rural traditions. Additionally, São José do Cerrito in Santa Catarina is focusing on archaeological tourism, centered on approximately 130 underground houses built by ancient indigenous populations, including ancestors of the Kaingang and Xokleng peoples.
